The addition of a state-of-the-art shavings processing facility to our factory In 2004 represents significant investment in the equine sector. The result means we are able to offer customers shavings that are perfect for the equine industry – whether used on there own or combined with rubber matting.
The wood in our shavings comes from well managed forests independently certified in accordance with the rules of the Forestry Stewardship Council. By using FSC certified wood we are supporting better management of the world’s forests. Bark is removed from the logs to leave only the pure soft core. This is then processed into shavings using the latest planing technology before being dried. The drying process is critical - it allows the shaving to be very absorbent but not too brittle, the high temperature also helps prevent any mould / spore growth. The result is a shaving perfect for any stable.
Sundown Shavings come baled and packaged in sealed plastic. We can supply pallet covers for extra protection.
